Disney robot can play catch with humans


Although it’s most famous for delighting audiences with anthropomorphic vermin and turning even the most emotionless people into sentimental kids-at-heart, Disney is also renowned in the field ofrobotics. The company has proven its relevance in that area again by introducing a humanoid robot that can play catch with ordinary humans.

The robot is being developed at a Disney research facility in Pittsburgh, and it aims to change the universal paradigm that while theme park robots are cool, guests aren’t allowed to interact with them at all.
