Choosing a university is an exciting milestone, but it is often accompanied by uncertainty. Understanding this important transition, the BINUS University Computer Engineering Program organized the PreFYP B30 Summer Camp, a series of engagement sessions designed to introduce future Binusians to the learning environment, laboratories, and community they will soon become part of.
Conducted across 22 May, 18 June, and 16 July 2026, the Summer Camp welcomed approximately 40 incoming students who are scheduled to begin their studies in August 2026. While many participants attended virtually through Zoom due to distance, family vacations, or other personal commitments, seven students were able to visit the Computer Engineering laboratories onsite. Their visit provided a valuable opportunity to experience the facilities firsthand, meet lecturers and laboratory assistants, and gain a clearer picture of what life as a Computer Engineering student at BINUS University will be like.
Throughout the sessions, participants explored a variety of hands-on workshop materials, experienced demonstrations of technologies developed within the program, and interacted directly with the academic community. Whether attending online or onsite, every participant was encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and discover how Computer Engineering combines creativity, innovation, and practical problem-solving to address real-world challenges.

Although the majority of participants could not attend in person, the enthusiasm shown throughout each session reflected the importance of staying connected with future students before the beginning of their academic journey. More than introducing facilities and academic activities, the Summer Camp aimed to provide reassurance that every participant would be joining a supportive learning environment dedicated to helping students grow academically and personally.
The PreFYP B30 Summer Camp became more than a series of workshops. It served as the beginning of a relationship between the Computer Engineering Program and its future students, helping them step into university life with greater confidence and excitement. BINUS Computer Engineering looks forward to welcoming these future Binusians onto campus and continuing to nurture their passion for technology and innovation in the years ahead.
