Online Guest Lecture: Basic Op-Amp Circuits with Prof. Ir. Dr. Norhana Binti Arsad
On June 3, 2025, the Computer Engineering Department of BINUS University hosted an online guest lecture as part of the Circuits and Electronics course, focusing on the topic “Basic Op-Amp Circuits.” This session is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to internationalize its curriculum and promote academic collaboration across borders.
The lecture was delivered by Prof. Ir. Dr. Norhana Binti Arsad from the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), who served as the invited speaker. She presented a comprehensive overview of operational amplifier (op-amp) fundamentals, including their use as comparators and essential building blocks in modern analog systems.
Her session covered key concepts such as the characteristics of ideal op-amps, basic configurations like inverting and non-inverting amplifiers, and practical implementations of op-amps in comparator circuits. The lecture was enriched with diagrams, simulations, and real-world application examples to help students connect theoretical knowledge with practical usage.
The event was moderated by Mr. Endra, a lecturer from the Computer Engineering Department of BINUS University. The discussion was dynamic and engaging, with students actively participating through questions and direct interaction with the speaker.
Attended by students of BINUS University’s Computer Engineering program, the entire session was conducted online via Zoom, enabling broader accessibility while maintaining high-quality academic delivery.
This guest lecture not only deepened the student’s understanding of analog circuit design–a crucial foundation in electronic system development–but also broadened their academic perspective through direct exposure to international expertise.
